Nancy Murphy was born in Ireland in 1800 and died in Milstreet, Ireland around 1840. She was married to Richard FitzGerrold, and they had three boys (Daniel, John, and William) and three girls (Mary, Julia, and Johanna). They had Johanna “Hannah” in 1837.  Nancy died when Hannah was only three years old.

Milstreet is a town in north County Cork, Ireland, with a population of approximately 1,500.  The town’s Catholic church is dedicated to St. Patrick.  The town, which is almost three hundred years old, is nestled beneath picturesque Clara Mountain.  The meandering rivers Finnow and Blackwater enhance the beauty of this area, which is situated in both the Duhallow and Muskerry baronies.
