Mary Ann Lawrence was born on November 25, 1830 in Canada to Joseph Lawrence and Lucy (Rouse) Lawrence. She was married to Barzilla Morris, and she gave birth to their son Douglas Morris around 1856. They also had a daughter, Victoria Eldora. Barzilla died on January 26, 1872 in Jo Daviess County. Mary Ann passed away on December 16, 1903 in Galena, Jo Daviess, Illinois. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Galena.
